JUDr. Mgr. Zdeněk Kopečný

Zdeněk Kopečný got his master’s degree and his doctoral degree at the field of Criminal Law (JUDr.) at the Faculty of Law of Palacký University Olomouc. Apart from criminal law, Zdeněk specialises in misdemeanour legislation and teaching clinical courses and legal ethics at the Centre for Clinical Legal Education. Zdeněk also got a bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and Journalism together with International Relations at the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University in Brno. He got the second master’s degree in International and European Studies focusing on European Law at Palacký University Olomouc. Zdeněk also participates in teaching at University of the Third Age and is a lecturer of misdemeanour legislation for clerks of territorial self-governing units. He also teaches at the Department of Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law of the Charles University in Prague as an external lecturer.

At the Centre for Clinical Legal Education, Zdeněk participates in teaching the following courses: Legal Skills Course, Students’ Legal Counselling Office, Criminal Law Clinic, Legal Information Systems and Legal Ethics. Zdeněk is also a member of the Global Alliance for Justice Education (GAJE) and attended three international conferences in Turkey, Mexico and Indonesia, organised by this alliance. In Indonesia, he was active in the Training of Trainers as a Facilitator. Also, he regularly attends conferences organised by the European Network of Clinical Legal Education.

Zdeněk is a registered attorney-at-law of the Czech Bar Association and is in charge of his legal office in Olomouc.
