Basic Information about the APF

The Faculty of Law of Palacký University Olomouc, the Faculty of Law of Charles University, the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University, the Faculty of Law of the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň, and the Institute of State and Law of the Czech Academy of Sciences (a public research institution) cooperate within the Association of Law Faculties (APF), based on the Memorandum of Cooperation signed on 3 November 2022.

The main areas of cooperation include joint research carried out by the participating institutions and through shared projects, cooperation in both undergraduate and postgraduate education, and other collaborative activities.

The Association typically meets twice a year. Each member institution is represented at meetings by its dean or director, who may appoint a deputy to attend on their behalf.

The Association is coordinated by its Chair, who is elected for a three-year term. For the period from 1 February 2026 to 31 January 2029, the Chair is Prof. JUDr. Radim Boháč, Ph.D. The Chair may be removed by a vote of the Association members. The Chair responds to current developments and represents the Association in negotiations with university leadership, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and on other occasions. Between meetings, the Chair prepares materials or statements as needed and is also responsible for preparing the agenda for the next meeting.
