Apply for University of Iceland online courses this autumn

Would you like to experience international teaching, gain new knowledge and expand your study portfolio with credits from a partner university? The Aurora Alliance is offering Palacký University students a selection of online courses from the University of Iceland, focusing on current topics such as sustainability, marine resources and sustainable finance. Join virtual classes taught in English and take the opportunity to study in an international environment without having to travel abroad. Applications are open until 19 June.

 

Sustainability Education and Leadership

Graduate course | Virtual | 5 ECTS
Online sessions: weekly from 24 August to 20 November

The course focuses on leadership, institutional change and sustainability in education. Students will work with topics such as systems thinking, professional identity and so-called “wicked problems”, linking them to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The course combines critical discussion, collaboration and reflection, leading students to create a professional development plan that connects theory with the practice of sustainability and social change.

Marine Resources

Graduate course | Virtual | 6 ECTS
Online sessions: weekly from 2 September to 20 November

The course introduces current research and innovation in the field of marine resources, including seafood processing, product development and quality assessment. It also focuses on new technologies such as automation and 3D food printing. Students will also address sustainability topics, such as microplastics and the use of currently underutilised marine raw materials, and will connect theoretical knowledge with applied case-based approaches.

Sustainable Finance

Graduate course | Virtual | 2 ECTS
Online sessions: weekly from 28 September to 20 November

The course connects environmental science and financial markets, focusing on the principles of green and sustainable finance. Students will learn about ESG risk assessment, impact reporting, climate risks, the EU Taxonomy and other regulatory frameworks. The course shows how sustainability principles are reflected in investment decision-making, portfolio structuring and the functioning of financial institutions.

Applications

Students apply for these virtual courses directly through the University of Iceland application portal. Applications must include an official transcript of records and a copy of a government ID. Current deadlines and further details are available for each course in the Aurora Course Catalogue.

Students may receive ECTS credits for completing the courses. To find out whether the credits can be recognised as part of your study plan, please contact the mobility coordinator, for example Erasmus coordinator, at your department.
