Olomouc Debates of Young Lawyers

The Olomouc meetings are intended as a place for constructive debate, brainstorming and creative searching for answers to established questions. This conference traditionally creates an environment for open debate over various topics. The majority of time is reserved for free discussion, a form preferred over presentation of a vast amount of contributions.

Recent years of the debates have demonstrated that the Olomouc meetings are not only a professional competition among the participants, but also a space for establishing professional and especially interpersonal connections. They also are in line with the conference motto "Cooperation and Friendship".

Mediation

This biennial international scholarly conference taking place at the UP Faculty of Law aims at interdisciplinary reflections on mediation in the Czech Republic and abroad, analysis of the conditions under which mediation is executed in the Czech Republic, and recommendations for further theoretical investigation in the field and applications in practice. It last took place in October 2017.

The conference traditionally comprises three parts. The opening speeches by the key speakers are followed by contributions in the individual conference sections focused for instance on theory and research in mediation, application of mediation, the profession of a mediator, education in mediation and other topical issues. The third part of the conference consists of interactive workshops.
