Internal grant competition at the PF UP for the years 2026 and 2027
The Dean of the Faculty of Law of the Palacký University in Olomouc announces a call for applications for internal grants of the Faculty of Law of the Palacký University in Olomouc for the years 2025 and 2026 according to Article 3(1) of the internal norm PF-B-21/13-ÚZ02 Statute of the internal grant competition at the Faculty of Law of the Palacký University in Olomouc.
List of supported areas:
- Area 1 – Strategic basic research projects
- Area 2 – Research groups
- Area 3 – International cooperation projects
- Area 5 – Research project concepts
- Area 6 – Projects to support career development
Applications can be submitted until 31 October 2025. Only applications that are physically and electronically received by the deadline in complete form and contain all the prescribed elements will be evaluated.
StartUP grants 2025/2026
StartUP grants are individual short-term grants intended for students of the first and second year of doctoral study programmes at the Faculty of Law, Palacký University Olomouc.
The Dean of the Faculty of Law announces a competition for StartUP grants to support the initiation of research activities of PhD students and to create conditions for the establishment of autonomous research.
Students can submit their StartUP grant applications to one of the grant funding areas listed below:
- Area 1 – Preparation of a research plan or research project concept
- Area 2 – Developing a research strategy and international networking
- Area 3 – Establishing of junior research teams

MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships

Main objective of the programme: Individual grants for postdoctoral researchers (up to 8 years after obtaining a PhD). The aim is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of PhD researchers who wish to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral mobility. Mutual knowledge transfer is required – the researcher must have a contact person (supervisor) at the host institution.
The grant recipient is not the researcher but the institution where they will be based – motivation to attract postdoctoral researchers to the Faculty of Law, Palacký University.

MSCA Staff Exchanges 2025
Opening of the MSCA Staff Exchanges 2025 call – 27 March 2025

Main objective of the programme: Staff exchanges aim to promote innovative international, intersectoral, and interdisciplinary collaboration in research and innovation through the exchange of staff and the sharing of knowledge and ideas. This programme supports a shared research and innovation culture. Any staff member contributing to the research activities of the project may participate. Institutions forming the consortium can send and/or host researchers, technical or administrative staff, managers, etc.
Currently, the ideal way for the Faculty of Law to be involved is as a partner in a project consortium that is already being prepared – call for academic staff to contact their research partners.

MSCA Doctoral Networks 2025

Main objective of the programme: To train a new generation of researchers capable of addressing current and future challenges and turning knowledge and ideas into economic and societal benefits. MSCA Doctoral Networks will increase the attractiveness and excellence of doctoral studies in Europe. They will equip doctoral candidates with a combination of research and transferable skills and provide better career prospects both in academia and beyond, through international, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral mobility.

Visegrad Grants
Project application deadline: 1 February, 1 June, 1 October each year
Relevant areas for the Faculty of Law: e.g., Democratic Values and the Media – projects promoting active citizen participation in democratic decision-making processes and fostering democratic debate; projects improving media and information literacy and increasing resilience to biased reporting, disinformation, and propaganda.

Projects must foster meaningful cooperation and active participation of organizations from at least three V4 countries. The maximum project duration is 18 months.

Jean Monnet Projects (within Erasmus+)

Activities within Jean Monnet projects focus on worldwide support for excellence in teaching and research in the field of European integration studies.
Types of Jean Monnet projects:
- Jean Monnet Modules – Short teaching programs or courses in the field of European studies. Each module must have a minimum of 40 teaching hours in one academic year for a duration of three years. They may also take the form of short specialized or summer programs or schools. Grant duration is 3 years. Maximum grant amount is 35,000 euros. Applicants must apply for a predetermined lump sum.
- Jean Monnet Chairs – These are teaching positions specializing in European Union studies for university professors for a duration of three years. Only one professor holds the Jean Monnet Chair title, who provides a minimum of 90 teaching hours in one academic year. Grant duration is 3 years. Maximum grant amount is 60,000 euros. Applicants must apply for a predetermined lump sum.
- Jean Monnet Centres of Excellence – These are contact points that bring together competencies and knowledge on topics related to the European Union. They connect knowledge and competencies of high-level experts, strive to develop synergy between disciplines within European studies, and create joint transnational activities and structural links with academic institutions in other countries. Grant duration is 3 years. Maximum grant amount is 100,000 euros. Applicants must describe the budget in detail in their application and organize it into individual work packages.

AKTION Czech Republic-Austria Projects for 2026
Application deadline for 2026:
- From September 15, 2025 to October 15, 2025 for project implementation period from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026,
- From February 15, 2026 to March 15, 2026 for project implementation period from July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026.

The purpose of the grant is to support the implementation of at least one of the following activities:
- projects that serve long-term cooperation;
- joint scientific events for students such as seminars or professional excursions;
- joint bilateral scientific events such as symposia, professional meetings and workshops;
- preparatory phase for double degree programs;
- research stays for obtaining scientific background materials;
- financial support for publishing outputs from already completed AKCE cooperation program projects;
- summer colleges, i.e. summer language courses in Czech and German;
- summer professional schools from various scientific disciplines;
- academic exchange for the purpose of implementing educational events within master's and doctoral study programs of the host institution.
For all activities, priority support is given to young researchers (young research workers, i.e. up to 10 years after regular completion of doctoral studies).
